57/2

57/2 is the name of our cider — a tribute to the farm and to the traditions and history of Store Nå.

57/2 is a “Classic Norwegian Cider”, with a balanced blend of sweetness and acidity.

Clear and straw-yellow, with fine bubbles in the glass. A juicy cider with a light, bitter hint of apple pip on the nose. Fresh and balanced on the palate: fine bubbles and very delicate bitterness throughout, with flavours of green and red apple skin.

The cider is carbonated to about 1.5 bar.

57/2 Kårkall

“Cider from Hardanger” made with kveik.

Made from Hardanger’s wonderful apples (Discovery, Aroma and Gravenstein, varying from year to year), but fermented with a traditional kveik, a farmhouse yeast handed down from generation to generation.

The kveik comes from Hardanger. It goes back further than 1979, the year it came to the neighbouring village; it originally came from Jordal in Odda, and nobody knows how old it is.

Kårkall is more complex than our regular 57/2 and can suit heavier dishes better.

The raw apple must is pasteurised straight from the press. Nothing added: just the taste of raw apples.

57/2 Brudeferd

A rosé cider first made for a proper Hardanger wedding, when cider maker Eirik’s sister got married here on farm 57/2. That gave it its name: Brudeferd, the traditional Hardanger bridal procession.

Made with 95% apples, 2.5% blackcurrants and 2.5% redcurrants.

Medium dry, with plenty of acidity from the redcurrants and a touch of bitterness from the blackcurrants, which gives a good balance between sweetness and acidity.

That bitterness and sweetness make it a great match for dark chocolate.
